Community Dumpster Days
Free up your basement or garage and get rid of that unwanted furniture, appliances and other bulk items taking up valuable space in your home.  Two weekends to choose from: 

Longfellow Neighborhood Center: April 28, 29.
Swansfield Neighborhood Center: May 5, 6.

Village-Wide Yard Sale

Saturday, May 5, 2008 from 9-2 pm.  Pick up a red ribbon to tie on your street signs; we will provide the advertising in local papers.

ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE NEWS AND NOTES

The Architectural Committee meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Applications must be received two weeks prior to the next
scheduled meeting to be placed on the agenda, and must include all applicable attachments, plats, photos, color chips, etc. Applications are available at Kahler Hall, or online at: www.columbiavillages.org/harperschoice 

MEETING DATES FOR 2008:
Note that there will be one meeting in August and December, so plan your alteration projects with that in mind.  April 10 &amp;amp; 24; May 8 &amp;amp; 22; June 12 &amp;amp; 26; July 10 &amp;amp; 24; August 14; September 11 &amp;amp; 25;  October 2 &amp;amp; 23; November 13 &amp;amp; 27; December 18.

HOWARD COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL LAWS

All animal owners in Columbia are subject to the Howard County Animal Control Laws.  Here are a few summarized requirements under Section 17.300 of the Howard County Animal Control Law:

*A pet must be on a leash and under control when not on an owners property.
*Owners are responsible for removing pet defecation when off their own property.
*Owners must remove an accumulation of pet defecation from their property to prevent annoying odors and rodent infestation. (Animal feces
is a food source for rats)

Residents who have concerns about animal behavior or the care and control of animals are urged to call Animal Control for more information: 410-313-2780.
